The Autotrén has a state-of-the-art Communications-Based Train Control System (CBTC), with automatic train operation (ATO), automatic train protection (ATP) and automatic train supervision (ATS) functions.

Allows two modes of operation:

  1. Pre-programmed. With pre-established routes based on historical demand.
  2. On request. Automatically adjusting route supply to demand in real time.
 

It enables the interoperability of vehicles with different propulsion technologies, or even from different suppliers on the same road network.
